A mother-daughter practice built on one principle: don't stop at symptoms, and don't stop until you find the answer.
It didn't start in a clinic. It started in the Navy.
Dawn has never been afraid of hard things. After the service she became an LVN — then went back to school for her RN and BSN and headed straight for the hardest room in the hospital: the ER, where medicine is fast, high-stakes, and real.
In the early 2000s, almost on a whim, she took a part-time job at a medical spa — back when medical aesthetics was brand new, before Botox was even FDA-approved for cosmetic use. She fell hard for it. In 2002, she opened her first practice, built entirely around aesthetics.
Then it got personal.
Around 2007, while Dawn was in school for her master's to become a nurse practitioner, a lab rep stopped by the clinic. On a whim, they ran full panels on the whole team — including her daughter, Jennifer, still a teenager. Her results were alarming.
Dawn was baffled — and then, all at once, it connected. The things Jennifer had fought her whole life — weight issues, histamine reactions, food sensitivities — everything shrugged off as “bad genes” or “just normal” — suddenly shared a single thread.
And here's what stopped her cold: she'd received zero education on any of it. The system had trained her for one move — write the prescription, cover the symptom, move on. A bandaid. So Dawn went hunting for the thing medicine never taught her to find: the root cause. That search became an obsession — hormones, detoxification, all the systems she'd been trained to overlook.
Then she saw it from the inside.
Her preceptorship sealed it. Prescription quotas for specific drugs — statins, birth control, blood pressure medication. A handful of rushed minutes per patient. A machine built around volume and profit, not people.
And then came the opioid epidemic — and Dawn had a front-row seat. Drug reps stood in front of providers and called OxyContin the humane, “non-addictive” way to treat pain. She watched people she loved become severely addicted. And when the prescriptions were suddenly cut off, the addiction didn't stop — it spiraled, and turned to the street.
That was the nail in the coffin. Right then, Dawn knew she could never go back — not to an industry that puts profit over life, and keeps patients customers by keeping them sick.
So she did what most providers won't: she stepped outside the system and rebuilt her entire approach from the ground up. Root cause. Not symptom management. Real answers, not temporary relief.
Jennifer grew up inside it.
Before it was a company, it was her childhood. Some of her earliest memories are of the original location taking shape — floor plans and fresh paint, her parents pouring every ounce of heart and sweat, and everything they had, into a dream most people would have walked away from. By high school she was working there part-time, watching them make sacrifices she still can't fully put into words to keep the doors open. It left her with a kind of grit and determination you can't teach.
She thought she'd follow her mother into medicine.
She started college on the path to become a physician — a DO — the whole plan mapped out. But the more she worked at the clinic while she studied, the clearer it became: her calling wasn't the same as her mom's. Dawn is a healer, a practitioner to her core. Jennifer's gift lived somewhere else entirely.
It was systems.
Where Dawn saw a patient, Jennifer saw a process — something to refine, streamline, and build. She fell in love with the machinery of it: creating programs, designing offerings, turning good intentions into things that actually run. Piece by piece, she took the business off her mother's plate so Dawn could do what only Dawn can.
Today, Jennifer runs everything outside the exam room — the marketing, the programs like CLARITY and the memberships, the patient experience, right down to the design of the space you walk into. If it isn't the medicine, it's Jennifer.
Cameron came in as a skeptic.
He and Jennifer were dating when she talked him into trying the program himself — and “talked into” is generous. He gave it a begrudging shot, expecting nothing. Then he started feeling the difference. Skepticism has a way of dissolving when the results show up in your own body.
What began as a favor to his girlfriend became real conviction — he didn't just believe in the work, he wanted to build it. When it came time to launch THE WELLNESS CO., Cameron wanted in for real. And when Jennifer's father — Dawn's husband, Peter — passed away, he stepped up to help the family finish what they'd started. He brought a background in finance and procurement, a sharp head for investing, and a gift for the thing no spreadsheet captures — building relationships — to give the company a foundation as solid as its medicine.
Three founders. One family.
Today, THE WELLNESS CO. is led by the three of them. Dawn is the medicine. Jennifer is the machine. Cameron is the foundation. And family isn't a tagline here — it's the whole point. Don't be surprised if you catch Cameron and Jennifer's kids running amok through the clinic between appointments. This is a family business in the truest sense: shaped by loss, driven by purpose, and carried by the same belief it began with —
You don't stop at symptoms.
And you don't stop until you find the answer.

Navy veteran turned nurse practitioner. The medicine behind every protocol.

Grew up in the clinic. The systems, brand, and experience behind it all.

Finance and relationships. The foundation the family builds on.
After years of being told my labs were normal, Dawn actually found what was wrong. Within 6 weeks I felt like a completely different person. I have energy again, my brain fog is gone, and I finally lost the weight that wouldn't budge.
The difference between THE WELLNESS CO. and every other provider I've seen is they actually test everything. Not 5 markers. Not 7. Everything. And then they explain what it means in a way that makes sense. I've never felt more informed about my own health.
I was skeptical about functional medicine, but the diagnostic report they gave me was unlike anything I've ever seen. It connected issues I'd been dealing with separately for years. Dawn's team doesn't just treat symptoms — they find the root cause.
Every protocol starts with comprehensive lab analysis. We don't prescribe based on symptoms alone.
"In range" isn't good enough. We push for optimal — where you actually feel the difference.
Your body changes. Your protocol should too. That's why CLARITY is a living system, not a one-time prescription.
Symptoms in isolation are misleading. We connect the dots across 10 body systems to find the root cause.
CLARITY analyzes 40+ biomarkers across 10 body systems to build a living, adaptive protocol designed around your unique biology. Three tiers. One goal: optimal.
Explore CLARITYNow we bring that same stubbornness to every patient who walks through our doors. That's what family does.
